The round barrows, 'The Five Hills', on the hill top, are Bronze Age and thus date from 2,250 BC to 1,200 BC.....

There is a continual record of use from Neolithic times onward.  The first evidence of man on this site is provided by the Neolithic Long Barrow which is 5,000 years old.  So much history under our feet!
