NWT Wayland Wood, Norfolk

This magnificent ancient wood dates back to the last Ice Age.  It is steeped in history and folklore, deriving its name from 'Waneland' a Viking name for a place of worship.  It is also reputed to be the site of the 'Babes in the Woods' story.  Source:- information board on site.










Lots of lovely bird cherry blossom....





and early purple orchids, they were a bit blurry though, or is it me?.....

look at all those bluebells! and to think I found one little patch of them by the driveway of our KY property. Such a beautiful woodland setting

ArenĀ“t we fortunate to be able to see the many variations of colours in nature, like these bluebells that sparkle like blue sapphire gemstones in the green. Such beautiful photos Cindy!
